Ophiuchus?

Yesterday when I was ascending the stairs to the second floor of my house, my mom goes out of her room, saw me in the way and asked me if I know about the constellations of the zodiacs. She said that there's a new sign added to the chart. I've read about a new zodiac sign called "Ophiuchus" before, so I simply nodded and walked away.

But I recently got even more curious so I re-googled it. If you haven't read about the news, then maybe you can google it too or just go here.
I'm kinda surprised to know that the sign has actually existed since long, long time ago. I mean, how come a lot of people still don't know about it until now? Last time I checked the daily horoscope, there were only 12 zodiac signs too. How come it was announced publicly now? o.o

Does that mean my sign is no longer Sagittarius? ;_;
